PSARA Training MOU & Guard Training

States want proof that the agency can train (or has tie-up access to train) guards to minimum standards before and after licence grant. An MOU with a recognised institute is the standard evidence.

Entry-level unarmed pathways commonly reference on the order of 100 classroom + 60 field hours (about 20 working days). Ex-servicemen and former police often receive reduced hour tracks (commonly cited around 40 classroom + 16 field / about 7 days). Access control, patrolling, fire safety basics, emergency response, visitor management, legal awareness (PSARA and labour basics), disaster response modules, and soft skills appear across curricula. Armed tracks add weapon handling under separate legal permissions.

Qualification packs such as unarmed security guard skill standards and Security Sector Skill Development Council frameworks inform quality expectations. Some States accept or prefer aligned certifications for key personnel.

Certain States require the licensee or key person to complete authority-prescribed training (for example multi-day academy programmes). Plan this in the calendar — it is not optional if Rules demand it.

Keep MOUs, batch attendance, certificates, and refresher plans. Renewals and inspections re-open training files. Expired MOUs are a silent killer of otherwise clean applications.
